Friday I gave you the URL of the most recent website I’ve realized for my AllBio assignment here at ITB, Bari. The “NGS and non-coding RNA data analysis Workshop” that will be held here in Bari (Italy) in April.

SeqAhead Workshop on High Performance Computing for Next Generation Sequencing analysis
Next Generation Sequencing has brought unprecedented volumes of data to the bioinformatics arena. Cost reduction in NGS forecasts massive adoption of these technologies by the genome research community. High Performing Computing might be a necessary choice for an efficient processing and analysis of this daunting amount of data.
The HPC4NGS SeqAhead workshop presents recent advances in the application of High Performing Computing solutions for NGS. The workshop covers HPC developments for assembly, mapping, RNA-seq, variant analysis, and more and it is targeted to bioinformaticians and computer scientists with interest in NGS.

This website is intented to be portal for any italian initiative on the NGS data analysis, sponsored by many prominent italian reasearch centers after some of the meetings on the topic that took place in 2010 in Bari. It was developed by my ICT colleagues Giorgio Grillo and Arianna Consiglio.
For this Joomla based website, paired with a forum module too, I’ll provide basic site maintenance, moderation, security management and general consultancy.

Under request I’ve deployed
This static HTML page is a temporary italian companion to the most prominent http://www.seqahead.eu/ website, which is the home page of the an EU-funded program and stands for Cooperation in Science and Technology. It provides networking for scientists in all interested EU countries on a specific topic, which is the Analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data.

After a couple of months’ work with the colleague Andreas Gisel we’ve published the Italian NGS network website.
The Italian NGS Data Analysis Network will connect Next Generation Sequencing technology users and data analysis providers on national level orienting its activity to the recommendations of the COST ACTION BM1006.
The website is available at the following URL:
It’s based on the open source WordPress CMS and will be published with contents both in italian and english (thanks to the qTranslate plugin). The website is ready to be multi-authored too.
I’ll be providing maintenance, site support, updates and feature integrations to it.
